Of course, wild animals should live in their habitat, but sometimes they become pets. Dora Wei from China has unexpectedly become a foster mom to a newborn boarlet, and she had no choice but to learn how to take care of it.
Dora Wei, 28, and her boyfriend Nulan, 32, live in the Hill Country of Sri Lanka and are in the jewelry business. They have similar interests. They both love wild jungle adventures and adore pets. Since they already had four dogs in the house, the couple had no intention of taking in more pets, but fate had other plans.
When the couple returned home from a three-day jungle trip in early September, the gardener showed them a box that someone had recently left on their doorstep. To everybody's surprise, there was a small animal inside that clearly was in need of help. It was a baby boar.
Since Dora didn't have any experience with nursing wild boars, she called her friend who worked at a local animal welfare organization. Unfortunately, no one could help her, because, as it turned out, shelters would not accept such babies. There was only one way out – to nurse the little boar herself.
Armed with knowledge from the Internet, Dora and Nulan built a den lined with a warm blanket for the baby in their bedroom and started feeding it with formula. The couple named their new pet Yezhu and although the boar was very weak, they hoped it would make it.
Their Labrador named Biu Biu did his best to help the family nurse the baby back to health. The other dogs, the Basset Hounds Benjamin and Ginger and Coco the Cocker Spaniel, were also friendly to him, but three-year-old Biu Biu became a real mom to him.
Their efforts paid off very quickly. Within a week, Yezhu's weight increased from 1 to 1.5 lb, and the baby became much more active. He definitely thought that the Labrador was his mom, so he stayed by her side all the time.
Although Yezhu has outgrown the dog in both size and weight, they are still friends.

Now the 100 lb boar still lives at Dora and Nulan's place. He still considers Biu Biu his mom and never leaves her side. They walk together in the yard, sleep and dine together. Biu Biu has taught Yezhu to wash himself, so the boar does not give his owners much trouble.
This spring, the owners built a small pigsty and a pool for the wild boar in their backyard. By the way, Yezhu has thousands of followers on social media, and he is certainly one of the most popular pets on the Internet.
Dora and Nulan are very attached to the boar, and they try to please Yezhu in every way they can, for example, by throwing a birthday party for him.
