The heroine of this true story was in a difficult life situation when she lost her home in the early '90s. Susan lived in Mississippi that had been badly affected by the 1993 hurricane. Unfortunately, Susan's home had been destroyed to the ground.
The woman was at her wits' end what to do. Not long before that she had lost her husband, who was her only support, because working as a beautician in a local beauty salon Susan didn't have a high salary. Having collected her last savings, the woman decided to buy an RV to have a place to live in with her son and daughter. However, for that amount of money she was offered only old and uninhabitable scrap.
Then a friend of her late husband suggested she consider an unusual option: a retired plane that could be easily used as a place to live in. Going to choose her future home Susan fell in love with Boeing 747, which had been flying since the 60s, and only recently was retired and destined to be taken apart.
The woman bought the plane for only $2,000, and it cost her a little more to transport and install it.
The plane was installed on solid concrete supports in a picturesque clearing near the lake.
By the way, it turned out to be a real spacious and comfortable home, later connected to all the utilities.
There is not only a bathroom with a view of the lake, but also a Jacuzzi!
