But in 2017, a true miracle happened. Zoologists from North Carolina managed to find and capture a male red wolf. He turned out to be purebred, meaning he had no blood of other canine species.

So the scientists took his biological material and were able to impregnate two females. A few months later, zoologists were holding a truly living treasure in their arms. As many as ten puppies were born. Symbolically, the babies were born on Mother's Day, May 13.
