An amazing incident has recently happened in a Korean zoo – a zebra escaped from its enclosure. Perhaps the animal just wanted to be set free or decided to take a walk about a nearby residential neighborhood.

On March 30, staff at the Grand Park Zoo in Seoul, South Korea's capital, set off alarm. A zebra escaped from the zoo after climbing over a wooden fence. According to the staff, the animal escaped from the enclosure in the afternoon, around 2:50 p.m., and headed to a nearby residential area, where it was roaming for about three hours.

The zoo caretakers contacted rescuers asking help to catch the animal. It didn't take them long to catch the zebra.

Rescuers used a fence and darts with muscle relaxants to make the zebra calm down. The animal was loaded into a car and safely transported back to the zoo.

The fugitive's name is Zero. She was born in the zoo in 2021 and has been its resident ever since. Zero has never escaped before, but this time she decided to taste freedom and got out.

She is now safe in her enclosure. According to the staff, no one was injured in the incident, including the animal.
