Emma Thompson was working in her home office when suddenly she spotted a red tail flicker by the door. It was an unexpected guest – a young fox that had run into the woman's house looking for food. At that moment Thompson couldn't even suppose that she would become a foster mom to this little fox.
Since that day the fox has come to the woman's yard more and more often. Later, Emma found out how the fox, named Foxy, ended up in her yard. This touching story started when a fox gave birth to a litter of cubs in a neighbor's yard. Unfortunately, the neighbor has destroyed the fox family's den. To make matters worse, the babies' mother was nowhere to be found. So Foxy decided to look for a safe place, and wandered into the woman's yard.
Foxy quickly got used both to Emma and to her home. Foxy likes lying on the couch in the patio, and she sometimes runs into the house through the cat's door to steal something. One day she even started bringing her little sister with her.
When Emma realized the foxes were too at ease at her house, she decided to close the cat door but continued to let them into the yard. "I didn't mind Foxy running into my yard, but when she started coming into the house at night and stealing my slippers, it was time to make a change! When I closed the door, she was quite unhappy," Thompson says.
But later, Foxy put up with being no longer allowed inside. In the meantime, she got used to Emma, and Emma started treating her like her pet. Foxy is not afraid of coming close to Thomson, though normally foxes stay far away from humans. There is a special bond between them.
Now Foxy and her sister are about four months old. They have been left without their mother early in life, but they've been able to find a safe place near the kind-hearted Emma. By the way, Emma is just happy to see the pet foxes in her yard.
