Not all couples want to have kids. But only few of them are ready to publicly announce it to the whole world. Nathalie Guzman, 30, and Andrés Flu, 39, decided to share on social media their decision to undergo a medical procedure to never become parents.
Instead, they set out to save the world and the dogs. Stupid or noble? It's up to you to decide.
A couple from Colombia sparkled a furious debate by sharing a photo of Flu holding a ticket for a vasectomy. A vasectomy is a surgical procedure that results in sterility (inability to have children) while preserving sexual function.
A very strange decision for young, healthy people, isn't it? But they explained it:
"We want to share with you the great joy. WE WILL NEVER BE PARENTS. We accept a life in which we will eternally buy toys for ourselves, we will be able to travel without limitations, walk naked around the house and more," Flu wrote on Facebook.
But that was not the main reason. Flu wrote that the most important was to contribute to the conservation of our planet that is already overpopulated and exhausted.
"We are not going to bring another human to contaminate it," he concluded.

"Everyone is free to do what seems best and if for them it's fabulous not to have children, great," one person wrote.
"It's a good thing we all don't think the same way and we all see happiness from different perspectives," another added.
"I dread the idea of bringing a human being into this world to live this life of slavery," another social media user backed up Flu's decision.
Seeing the large number of comments, the couple decided to respond to them. Nathalie and Andres thanked many people for their understanding. But not everyone supported them either.
"A person's opinion can change over time, and a childfree person is no exception. A person may not want to have a child in their twenties or thirties, but later on that desire may emerge," one person wrote.
"They're lying. It's not about "contaminating" the world. If that were the case, they would remove themselves from this world. This is about selfishness. They just don't want the responsibility or expense," another wrote.
Later Guzman came up with further explanations. "If I wasn't affected by what I see every day, because sometimes it hurts me to breathe, to see so many children suffering in the street, so many drugs, violence and cruelty. Believe me, I would consider having one."
