Recently, Francisca Franken from Germany has made up her mind to adopt a cat. One day she was browsing the website of a local animal shelter and saw a photo of an exotic short-haired cat named Bean.

"I saw her pic and it was love at first sight. I laughed at first because the pics were so funny. I had never seen a cat like that before," Francisca recalled. The girl immediately wrote to the shelter that she wanted to take in Bean.

Bean arrived at the shelter injured and in poor condition. The cat was diagnosed with eye infection and bladder inflammation. Fortunately, she was able to make it. Over several months Bean stayed at the shelter, no one showed interest in this beauty. Francisca was the first to enquire about the cat.

The next day Francisca went to the shelter. The girl expected to see a large cat, but Bean turned out to be a tiny creature with amazing eyes. The cat immediately came up to the girl and rubbed her face against her. After Francisca spent several hours with Bean, the shelter staff allowed her to take the cat home the same day.

"From the first second she felt at home, lay down on the couch and dozed off," the cat's owner says. "Waking up a few hours later, Bean started exploring my home."

For the first few weeks, the cat followed her owner everywhere. Once she got used to her new home, she became calmer. Bean likes sitting by the window and going for a walk with her owner. Her favorite food is olives. Bean always circles around Francisca when she eats them.

"The cat has filled my life with joy. I can't put my love for her into words. Rescue works both ways. She helps me on my toughest days," Francisca shares.
