On a February afternoon, a box appeared at the door of a Mexican animal shelter with a small puppy inside. There was also a stuffed toy and a note written in a child's handwriting.

At first the shelter staff thought that the puppy had been abandoned by a child who had failed in his duties, but after reading the text, they realized that the boy had not gotten rid of the pet, but had saved it from domestic violence!

"My name is Andrés and I’m 12 years old. My mom and I decided to leave him to you. All of this is behind my dad’s back, because he was thinking of selling him. But he is always beating and kicking the dog. Once he kicked him so hard that his little tail got injured. I hope you can help him and take care of him. Here is a plush toy so he won’t forget me," the note read.

First of all, the puppy was taken to the vet. The doggie was diagnosed with a broken tail and was also given anti-parasitic therapy. The pooch did not have any other health issues.

The dog was given a new name, and now his name is Rene. It didn't take the pooch long to look for a new home and kind owners. Soon he was adopted into a loving family who have surrounded him with love and care.
