When Hoshi, an American husky, was 11 years old, he had both his eyes removed due to glaucoma. The world was no longer the same for him and he fell into a deep depression. However, it didn't last long. Soon he got a friend who helped the old dog out of depression.
Zen, an adorably tiny Pomeranian girl with beautiful eyes, was welcomed into the family six months after Hoshi's eye surgery.
Zen also had health problems: heart issues, pulmonary edema, tracheal stenosis, and tooth decay. Her owner picked her up on the street and placed her in a shelter for rehabilitation and treatment.
"As soon as I saw Zen, I immediately fell in love with this sweet creature," said doggie owner Pauline Perez. "However, we had no idea what role Zen would play in Hoshi's life." Soon afterwards Perez realized that Zen was exactly what Hoshi needed at the moment.
"I was conerned about how Hoshi would react when I brought Zen back from her rehabilitation from the dog shelter," Perez recalls. "To my surprise, Hoshi didn't bark at her. They quickly became friends and are now inseparable."
Zen's sixth sense told her that Hoshi was blind and needed a guide. From that moment on, Zen has always helped Hoshi find the way, protecting, and guiding him.
It should be noted that Hoshi has also helped Zen. Coming home from the shelter, the doggie was nervous and restless, but with Hoshi's help, she quickly calmed down.

The dogs love going for a walk together, they stay close to each other and look happy and cheerful.
And, oddly enough, both love hiking. They enjoy going with their beloved humans hiking, kayaking, and have fun camping.
And of course, Hoshi and Zen just adore playing and snoozing together.
