The owners of Rajah, a one-and-a-half-year-old dog, were heartbroken when their pet ran away from home. Being missing for several hours, she finally made it home late at night and even figured out how to ring the doorbell. Stunned, her owners were very happy and relieved to find their doggie at the front door.

"She was in the backyard with our other dog, and our neighbor started shooting off fireworks, and I knew she would be scared. I went into the backyard – and she was gone," Mary recalls.

Immediately, the couple started searching the neighborhood for the dog, with the help of neighbors. however, they had to return empty-handed after dark, waiting until the next day to continue the search. Mary and Ryan were also thinking about posting on social media about Rajah's escape.

Someone rang the doorbell at 3 am

About 3 am, the couple heard the doorbell ring. They checked the front door camera and saw Rajah's head. "We were ready to call all the shelters, and she just showed up and rang the doorbell," Mary recalls. Ryan immediately went outside to let the doggie in. The couple was relieved to have their dog back, although they still don't understand how she knew to ring the doorbell.

"I don't even know how she knew to do that. I've never showed her. She doesn't go out in the front yard except for to the car, so she's never seen us use the doorbell," Mary said.

As for the dog, she was all embarrassed, seemingly afraid of being scolded.
