A couple of days ago the Lodi Fire Department in California reported that a couple tried to catch a dog they spotted running on a busy street, but the frightened dog ran under their car and climbed into the engine compartment.

"Officers used jacks and stabilization devices to secure the vehicle and then dismantled part of the engine until they could free it," the department wrote on Instagram.

The dog was taken to a fire station for a bath and then handed over to Lodi Animal Services.

According to the department, the dog is now in a city shelter and is waiting to be picked up by its owner.
