One snowy day, a stray black cat came to the doorstep of a Montreal home. The guest sat down by the window, apparently asking for a meal. After getting treats, the cat started coming back there every day.
The homeowners immediately noticed the cat's enormous appetite. They continued to feed the kitty and reported the stray to a local rescue center.
Nadia, a volunteer at Chatons Orphelins Montréal, came to pick up the kitty.
On seeing the cat, she immediately figured out the reason for her big appetite – she was pregnant.
The expectant mom named Laloue was placed with a foster family, where she could safely give birth to her babies.
The mother-to-be was lucky as she was rescued just in time, otherwise the babies would have had to be born on the cold street. A few days later, Laloue welcomed four healthy kittens!
The mama cat is extremely attentive to her babies. She nurses the kittens, licks them clean, and never leaves their side. Laloue also trusts her foster parents, letting them hold and take care of her babies while she rests.
