Most people prefer to adopt young animals, or even better very young animals. That's why old cats and dogs live in shelters for years and no one takes them in. However, an unusual case occurred not long ago. A 19-year-old cat named Gus from North Carolina, USA, was brought to the shelter by its former owner who could no longer take care of him. Only a month later the cat was taken in by a 101-year-old woman named Penny.

Just a few weeks later, a request was received from a 101-year-old woman named Penny, who was looking for a new pet because her previous cat had sadly passed away. Penny wanted a new furry companion, and Gus was the perfect choice.
