"It took us 12 months": a young couple managed to build a 5-storey house on an 18-square-meter plot of land

There are many advantages of living in a big city, but there are also a lot of drawbacks. If you want to live a comfortable life there, you will probably have to spend a lot of money. The living space alone is worth thousands of dollars. Furthermore, finding a good apartment or a plot of land in a megalopolis at a reasonable price is not an easy task. For example, one family from Seoul had been trying to find a comfortable and inexpensive place to live for a long time but in vain. Fortunately, they found a creative way out of the situation. Lee is an architect by profession, and once he saw a tiny abandoned plot of land, the young man had the brilliant idea to transform it into a comfortable and unique home.

The plot was only 18 square meters, but the couple has turned it into a real multi-storey building, and, moreover, a private one!

It took 12 months to build the innovative house. It has five floors: four floors are allocated for living space, and the ground floor is a garage. The young couple admitted that at first it was hard to get used to such a vertical arrangement of rooms.

But soon the couple found some benefits. For example, if at night a desire to go to the kitchen and eat something occurs, the owners will have to climb down the staircase. And that means that craving for late-night snacks will probably disappear. In addition, to go up a few floors on a daily basis is some kind of physical activity, a great alternative to exercising.

Another advantage is the gorgeous view that opens up from the height of their house. The house is surrounded by trees, and from the top floor you can see the urban landscape. The house looks interesting not only from the outside, but also inside. The interior, of course, is minimalistic because of the size of the rooms, but it is thought through to the smallest detail.
