A British girl Heather Tookey, 23, from Beckenham, Kent, lives with an unusual pet. A few years ago she was heartbroken when she started working as a seasonal volunteer at the Cheetah Experience in South Africa. The center was nursing and caring for orphaned cheetahs as well as adult cats, but it was clear that the Cheetah Experience did it for business. The animals were meant for hunting or stuffing as trophies for wealthy clients. And Heather made up her mind to save at least one cheetah.
The girl launched a campaign on social media and began fundraising. Thanks to her efforts all the cheetahs were bought and handed over to the reserves, and she personally spent £5,000 to take the little cub nicknamed Teardrop.
Of course, this will not solve the problem of killing big cats for trophies, as the business is profitable and very common in South Africa. But Heather couldn’t just turn around and walk away after learning the brutal truth. So now she has a spotted Teardrop.
Teardrop the Cheetah knows well who saved her from the fate of becoming a floor carpet. The animal sincerely loves her savior and snuggles up to her at every opportunity.
Many people are jealous of Heather, because with the usual cat one can’t make so cute and impressive selfies.
If only people knew how hard it is to endure cheetah’s love! Teardrop has a very rough tongue and an insatiable desire to lick the owner, so sometimes Heather escapes from the cat's cuddle.
