Onion the Kitten was only ten days old when she arrived at Baby Kitten Rescue in Los Angeles, California, in dire need of help.
"She was found Thursday night all alone. The saviors had been waiting for the mother cat for some time, but alas, she did not return," reports Caroline Grace, founder of Baby Kitten Rescue.
Onion's condition was getting worse, so she needed badly people’s help. Caroline urgently took her to her place, where the poor kitten began to receive intensive care.
The furry baby was all in fleas, with a large crust under her right armpit, and with a big sore. "Onion was severely dehydrated, crying nonstop in pain because of her stomach problems,” Caroline says.
Fortunately, after taking antibiotics, IVs, and supplements Onion’s health started improving.
"Within hours I could see her condition looking up. She hadn't mastered a bottle yet, but she was eating well at every feeding," Caroline shares.
With her first burst of energy, Onion leaned on her savior's arm with both forepaws and even tried to purr.
Then the kitten was taken in by Ana, a volunteer, who continued treating and feeding the baby on the schedule. "Within a week, Onion took a nipple and ate perfectly, gradually transforming into a playful, courageous, and loving girl she is by nature.”
Onion did not hesitate to mew loudly to attract Ana’s attention whenever she saw a bottle. As she comfortably devoured the food on her babysitter's arm, she stretched her paws forward with all her might.

"We found her the perfect home. When her new mom first met her, it was love at first sight. There was an instant bond between them," Caroline shares.
Onion has already been spayed and will set off for a joyous trip to her home next week.
