In March 2019, residents of a small Canadian city noticed a three-legged dog Lucky wandering the streets. The dog, apparently abandoned by his owners, lived at the dump, but could not join a pack of stray dogs. Other dogs wouldn’t accept the disabled dog and hurt him. Having found Lucky, the kind people realized that the dog urgently needed help. They took him from the junkyard and brought him to the shelter.
The examination of the special dog showed not only the lack of one paw, but also numerous bruises on his body.
"Under what circumstances Lucky lost his paw and why the owners took him as unnecessary junk to the garbage dump, we will never know," a volunteer at the shelter said. “However, despite all the stress the dog has endured, he has not lost his cheerfulness and trust to people,” the woman added.
Lucky was treated for parasites, vaccinated, and neutered. Judging by his habits, the furry pet had once lived in a family, because he made easy contact with people and was in great need of a master. However, the dog had spent 2.5 years in the shelter before his owner was found.
Finally, Lucky was adopted by a family who had already taken in Jasper the dog from the same shelter! That's how Lucky has found not only owners, but also a "brother"!
