This amazing story took place in Bullitt County, Kentucky. When visiting her grandmother, a 2-year-old little girl, Charlie Campbell, suddenly went missing.
The girl was last seen playing in the backyard at 10 o'clock in the morning. Her grandmother was shocked and immediately contacted the police and volunteers. Many people responded and started combing out the woods for the missing toddler. Unfortunately, they could not find any trace of the girl.
It turned out that the girl was not alone. Her pit bull Penny had also disappeared with her.
Two days later, the doggie was spotted near a neighbor's house, and missing toddler Charlie was with her!
The little girl was very weak, dehydrated, and bitten by ticks, but overall, her condition was of no concern to the doctors.
Most likely, when Charlie decided to go for a walk and left her grandmother's house in the woods, the dog followed her and guarded her as best it could. After all, the woods aren't a safe place for a little girl like her. It's full of snakes, coyotes, and other dangerous creatures.
The family was happy to reunite with the kid and called her rescue a true miracle.
And Penny is now a real heroine, who guarded the girl and most likely saved her life!
