When Micheline from Montreal spotted a litter of kittens hiding behind a shed in her backyard, she tried to come up to them, but the little ones ran away. She found the kittens a couple of days later and, unfortunately, only two of them had survived. This time the woman managed to catch and take them to her house, but despite her best efforts, one of the kittens also passed away.

But the remaining red and white kitten survived the night and looked quite healthy. Next day Micheline contacted the Chatons Orphelins Montréal shelter in hope of giving him a chance at a better life.

"We took the kitten and named him Beorf. He was so happy, sweet, and friendly. When he arrived, he was curious about everything around him," Céline Crome of Chatons Orphelins Montréal explained.

Soon he got used to the life at the shelter and Céline discovered that he was a very vocal kitten as he meowed loudly if he wanted something.

"He loves adventures and isn't shy at all. He thinks he is king of the shelter. Beorf is a curious ball of energy. He is totally fearless," Céline said.

Soon afterwards, volunteers were able to find his mom using the TNR (trap-neuter-return) program. Now she lives at a farm where she is fed and cared for, so it's nice to know her story has a happy ending.

Meanwhile, little Beorf turned into a cute, furry cat. When he was three months old, he was old enough to be adopted. On seeing the kitty the family that came to meet him instantly fell in love with him. When they picked him up, the kitten immediately started purring.

"He purrs as soon as you pet him. He likes to climb the cat tree and sit by the window. He wants to be around his humans all the time and control everything they do," Beorf's new owners say.
