Residents of a Canadian town often saw this matted, sick, and sad dog, who spent his life slepping on trash piles, feeding on what was given to him by caring people, and rummaging in garbage cans. But his life was dramatically changed when volunteers spotted him and decided to give the poor guy a chance at a better life.
When the volunteers first noticed the Chow Chow, later named Baloo, he was is awful condition. His fur was matted, somewhere it was missing, his eyes were watering, and the doggie was limping on his hind leg. He was taken to the shelter and immediately shown to the vets.
The diagnosis was disappointing. The 7-year-old pooch was covered with sores all over his body due to life on the streets, and suffered from several serious infections. Of course, the dog was prescribed antibiotics, skin ointment, and deworming.
After some enquiries, the shelter staff was taken aback as Baloo had owners! One day a couple showed up claiming that the purebred dog belonged to them. They didn't have any photos or documents, but they wanted to take the dog back. According to the "owners," they had maved to Toronto for a year, and left the pet in the care of their friends. No one could give an answer as to why he wandered around the city dumpsters and slept in the rain and snow for months.
Anyway, Baloo wasn't returned to negligent owners and was left at the shelter, where he recovered from all the turmoil. Baloo has turned out to be a very well-mannered and intelligent dog, kind and understanding. His fur gradually grew back, and although he had still some health issues, Baloo started to look like a perfectly healthy doggie.
When Baloo's ended up at the shelter, Tracy took fancy to the poor thing. The woman saw his pics on social media and made up her mind to adopt him. She was not even discouraged by the fact that there were many miles between them, and Baloo was a sick elderly doggie.
Baloo has finally acquired a deserved home. Despite all the hardships of life, he was able to find his happiness with a new owner thanks to the help of kind people.
