This poor hungry doggie was spotted near a St. Louis residential neighborhood. As it was known later, the pooch once had a family. Before relocating to another city, the cruel people decided to get rid of their pet by simply dumping her on the street. The dog had been living like that ever since, feeding off garbage cans. Fortunately, she was reported to the SRSL rescue center.

A volunteer named Donna arrived on the scene the same day. As she drove up, she immediately noticed the dog. However, the pooch wasn't alone, there was someone else looking at her curiously from behind the fence... These were two puppies. According to Donna, they were six to eight weeks old.

The mama dog turned out to be trusting, and she was quickly lured. However, the pups were extremely scared since they must have little contact with humans. Finally, after several attempts the rescuer managed to catch the pups. After that the entire family was taken to the vet.

Both the mom and pups were doing well; they were only a little underweight. The canine family was quickly taken to a foster home.

Now that they are safe and warm, the doggies are learning to live with people and finally realize what real love and care means. All the dogs will soon find a forever home.
