It is so amazing to see when friendships develop between animals of different species. And it is usually dogs who make friends with all kinds of creatures. This 3-year-old Dutch Shepherd Osiris trained as a therapy dog had no friends until a rat named Riff came into his life. What happened next and how they became friends, read below.
Little Riff was found by Osiris' owners when he was just four weeks old. The baby had not opened his eyes yet when Osiris’ parents started nursing him with a syringe.
Looking at the baby, the large dog involuntarily recalled his childhood. As a puppy he was also dumped in a cold parking lot, where he was found by his current owners.
Osiris realized what he had been missing all this time.
Of course, he needed a true friend, who had a hard start in life and who could understand all Osiris' misfortunes.
Both Osiris and little Riff badly needed support early in their lives.
As a therapy dog, Osiris has helped his family look after lots of different animals over the years. But the dog needed a true soul mate, the one who he could play with. Although at first some people were skeptical about this friendship, the little rat and the big dog have become real friends!

Riff is an indoor rat, he won't grow big, and he can fit in Osiris' mouth. But the dog won't hurt the little one, because he is very careful with his friend. Osiris does not spoil Riff, but he protects him as Riff was his pup. One look at them and everything becomes clear. They are friends forever!
