A Reddit user has recently shared the story of how he went on vacation and asked his neighbor to look after his pets. When he returned two weeks later, his pets were doing fine. Later, the man received a touching letter from his neighbor that made him smile and cry.
Robert, that's the neighbor's name, said that two weeks with the dogs named Smokey and Jennifer and Oreo the cat helped him find meaning in life. The man shared that being a senior he hardly ever left his home that resulted in his becoming aloof and miserable. He felt very lonely because was left all alone, without loved ones. Every day he felt his end was approaching.
However, everything changed when his neighbor asked him to look after his pets. Their zest for life made the man start to see the positive aspects of life again. "It was like the pets pressed a reset button in my life," Robert confessed.
The man walked dogs in the park and made new friends. He soon adopted two dogs from a shelter and now takes care of them. Robert says that caring for his pets is a new goal in his life. One can't imagine anyone more grateful to his neighbor than Robert.
