Actress Margot Robbie walked the red carpet in London in a stunning scarlet Valentino gown. Margot joined her co-star Brad Pitt at the Babylon premiere.
Margot and Brad, as well as other stars of the film, attended the premiere of their new BFI Imax film at Waterloo in London.
The 32-year-old actress stole the show, wearing a red dress that was completely closed in the front but had an open back and halter neck top.
The dress was tailored to match the epoch of the film. After all, Babylon tells the story of actors of Hollywood's Golden Age at the end of the silent film era.
The 1920s was a time of wild parties, sex and unprecedented heat of passion, although movies of the era were quite chaste.
Brad Pitt got the role of the actor Jack Conrad, and Margot Robbie played the starlet Nellie Laroy. The prototype of Nelly was Clara Bow, a silent film star, the first It-girl and the first sex symbol in the modern sense of the word.
Although Babylon's editing and acting got positive response, critics were not very impressed with its plot and script. So the film reviews are very contradictory, and evaluations vary. But, nevertheless, Damien Chazelle's film has already won a Golden Globe for the soundtrack, although it grossed only $5 million for its first weekend in the United States.
The movie also got several Academy Awards nominations.
Talking about the filming of the movie, Margot Robbie admitted that she spontaneously decided to kiss Brad Pitt, even though it was not in the script.
"I thought, 'When else will I get a chance to kiss Brad Pitt? I'll just do it.' It was great!" the actress admitted.
Moreover, Margot joked that she sometimes doubted whether the picture would be shown in theaters.
"When I read the script, I was like, ''This is like La Dolce Vita and Wolf of Wall Street had a baby – and I love it! But I wondered, 'Are we allowed to show that? There were so many scenes where I was like, a) I have no idea how I'm going to do that, and b) are we going to get away with this?'" the actress joked.
Babylon premiered in Los Angeles on December 15, 2022, and was released in the United States by Paramount Pictures on December 23, 2022.
