A tiny kitten, no more than a few weeks old, had been wandering a Montreal neighborhood, until one garden caught her eye. There she met a house cat, older than herself.

The two felines quickly hit it off, and the kitten didn't hesitate to visit the cat on more than one occasion.

While enjoying the company of her cat friend, the same could not be said for that of humans... In fact, she would move away as soon as they approached her, until a neighbor managed to bring her to safety. She was later taken in by Nadia, a volunteer with Chatons Orphelins Montréal, and then by local foster moms Sarah and Morgane who named her Alixe.

Kitten came to the right place

If Alixe hadn't befriended the house cat, she might not have been so lucky in her subsequent adventures. Shy and frightened at first, the little tabby finally came out of her shell and got used to her new environment. Sarah and Morgane did everything in their power to help Alixe overcome her fears and build confidence.

"She quickly learned to enjoy the company of her owners and other kittens. She follows the other cats around the house, watches them play and tries to imitate them," the shelter reports. The kitty finally feels loved and safe. At the age of 3 months, just one month after being rescued, Alixe was put up for adoption to begin the next chapter in her life.
